All About Us

Lighting is 3 - 175W 14,000K metal halides + 4- 165W VHO Actinics + 2 - 40W Long wave Ultraviolet Lamps.
The sump has particle filter and Venturi skimmer.  My "refugium" is seaweed attached to 1 piece of live rock in the sump with an outdoor flood light over the top of the sump.  Internal circulation is from 2 Maxi Jet 600 powerheads on a wave strip. Tank "turnover" is 3 to 4 times per hour. Water changes are 70% to 90% monthly using Crystal Sea Marine Mix and our DI purified water. SeaLab 28 provides all necessary minerals when needed with the exception of 4 times the normal addition of Reef Iodide by SeaChem (added 4 times as often, not 4 times the amount all at once).  DT's phytoplankton, Cyclop-eeze, Oyster Eggs, Brine and Mysid shrimp are used to feed corals very, very sparingly.  Fish get to eat leftovers from feeding corals.  Marine Max by Tropical Science is added to prevent diseases and parasites.  E-mail if you have any questions or you would like to buy any of these products.        Woody

SeaHorse Aquarium Supply Company was started in 1992 with the specific goal of providing the best of all your saltwater needs at the best prices.   We offer the customer advice to the best of our knowledge and we are willing to spend time to personally teach you the hobby.   We test all products and we sell only those that truly work.   We hold livestock until it's eating and ready to move to your aquarium. We also do not import species that have little or no survival rate. Our livestock is kept under the best possible conditions and our corals under the best lighting for each species.

Our many services include providing purified fresh water, premixed saltwater, installation of all "in shop" lighting, plumbing, and filter systems free of charge, free delivery and setup of complete systems, and we stand behind all products we sell with a no hassle repair or replacement guarantee.

If you have suggestions or information to share, by all means, please send it to us. We like to learn as much as teach.
